The active area of a button, also known as the hit area, is where the rollover is triggered when the pointer is moved over it in a Web browser.
With Set Active Area Automatically selected, the Fireworks automatically creates a slice the size of the bounding box of the button symbol. If you need the active area to be a different size or shape, you can create a slice or hotspot.
Web objects in a button's Active Area tab appear on the Web Layer of the document.
To draw a slice or hotspot Web object:
1 | Open the Button Editor. |
2 | Click the Active Area tab of the Button Editor. |
3 | Deselect Set Active Area Automatically. |
4 | Select a Slice or Hotspot tool and draw in the Button Editor. |
